A great product design article was published by Fortune Magazine recently – The 100 Greatest Designs of Modern Times. It’s a wonderful journey through some of the design products and services that have shaped and influenced our lives, and it’s a fascinating read. It’s full of products I admire, and many that I already own […]

It has many original features that they love but they are open to any building work needed to give them the family home of their dreams…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ …and they need designers!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The competition is open to all […]
At the KBB 2020 show a couple of weeks ago I joined their panel talk on Smart Homes. It was a lively discussion that represented different views on the influence of technology in the home, where it’s currently at, and where we’d like to see it heading. It’s now available to listen to on their […]
A strange week, and likely difficult for all of us in different ways – for some people very difficult. Here we’ve been continuing work in the studio in Hampshire… as normal? Well not quite. In the middle of the South Downs National Park it’s usually a lot quieter than London anyway. But this morning I […]
For the special edition of kbbreview magazine this month I wrote the first of the articles in this Design Trend special. I wrote about a design approach for our homes that I believe so strongly in… how it works… and that what results from this… Longevity. “Our homes can have a profound effect on our […]
Whenever I’m travelling it’s a chance to look for ideas and inspiration. There was plenty of that in Amsterdam last month, and also an opportunity to do a bit of design sourcing. Not one to waste any time, before our itinerary for the CEDIA conference started, I dashed into the old centre of Amsterdam to […]
I’m looking forward to joining the panel talk for the Kitchen & Bathroom Design Podcast next week, from KBB 2020 at Birmingham’s NEC. You can hear me talking about smart home design at the Central Bar at 2pm on Tuesday 3rd March, and afterwards on the kbbreview podcast channel here: The Kitchen & Bathroom Design […]
Last week I attended CEDIA’s Design and Build conference in Amsterdam. The event was organised to give interior designers an understanding of the very latest developments in smart home design, and to provide a glimpse of where this exciting area is heading in the future. And sometimes it’s just fun to play with gadgets! We […]
I’ve always loved Bridget Riley’s work, and the current retrospective at the Hayward Gallery at London’s Southbank is fantastic. Covering all of her work, from the earlier monochrome art of the 1960s, through to the more colourful pieces she produced later on. As the work became less op-art and more abstract, for me the sense […]
2019 has been another busy and rewarding year, and now it’s time for a break! We’ll be relaxing and recharging, and looking forward to the exciting range of interior design projects that are waiting for our return to the studio in January. We wish everybody happy holidays and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
