Project Story

We were commissioned to undertake a complete interior redesign of this duplex flat in London’s Knightsbridge / South Kensington, and to oversee its refurbishment.  Our client briefed us to create a timeless feel to the property in keeping with this part of London, while incorporating the latest home technology as discreetly as possible.  In this way, traditional materials are combined with centralised AV and the latest in smart home and lighting technology.

In the main reception rooms and bedrooms we installed beautiful oak parquet flooring – an elegant backdrop to all of the interior schemes.  In the drawing room, we reinstated a fireplace and designed bespoke cabinetry for display and storage.  Subtle period references are included in the cloakroom, with traditional panelling and cabinetry as well as a Victorian tiled floor.

The kitchens and bathrooms were designed with a more contemporary look.  The German kitchen with white stone worktops has a sleek feel, while incorporating craft elements in the cement tiled splashback, with custom tile patterns combined in a random arrangement.

The master bathroom uses a striking combination of traditional and modern materials: Carrara marble and Murano glass tiles are used with a bespoke-designed Corian basin unit.  This luxury bathroom includes a walk-in shower and whirlpool bath in an ingenious arrangement.  In the second bathroom, a stunning custom-blended mosaic tile forms the backdrop to the room and continues across the floor.

This project was selected as a Finalist in the 2019 KBB Bathroom Designer of the Year awards.
