Winchester Hampshire furniture lighting design

A vibrant and luxurious sitting room

In the separate sitting room we decorated and furnished with a more grown-up feel.  We used a soft metallic wallcovering alongside richer finishes and colours – marble, velvet and oak.

Striking floor lamps and bright accessories including jewel-like silk and embroidered cushions complete the scheme.

Winchester Hampshire study desk lighting

A smart and sparkling study space

In the study we used striking modern furniture in neutral shades, and matching lamps with warm oak timber accents.

The styling picks up on the multi-coloured buttoning of the armchair upholstery by using a similar array of colours for the desk accessories, along with warm metals and graphic artworks.

Project Story

We were engaged to dress and style this new-build property in Kings Worthy, Winchester for a Hampshire-based property developer.  The house had been completed and on the market for a few months, but it was yet to sell.

We designed the furniture and accessory schemes for all rooms, as well as window treatments, lighting and styling.  We aimed to show how well this home could suit a wide range of buyers, including families, as well as for the property developer’s general marketing.

The main room of the house is the open plan living space comprising kitchen, dining and lounge area.  This room also opens out onto the garden, and we furnished the room as well as the terrace to demonstrate what a fantastic multi-purpose space this could be.  A spacious kitchen with breakfast bar, a dining table set for dinner, and a casual sitting area looking out onto the garden.  We captured some of the latest interior design trends in order to maximise the appeal of the property.

A separate sitting room or snug is designed with a cosier feel.  Here we added a beautiful metallic wallcovering to form the backdrop to the room, and lit the space with a selection of lamps.  Embroidered cushions and bright silks and velvets give a much more grown-up feel to this room and show how well-suited the house could be for different people.

The third room on the ground floor is dressed as a play room as the home could suit a younger family.  This room is next to the open plan living room, so children would never be far away, yet the toys and clutter can be contained.

Upstairs the landing is dressed with occasional furniture and a reading chair.  A glass LED feature light hangs over the staircase and the hallway.

The bedrooms were all designed with elegant and inviting schemes – luxurious and contemporary in character.  All of the rooms are designed to feel part of the same property, but each of them has its own mood and style.

We dressed the fourth bedroom as a study.  Using modern furnishings and lighting, with colourful accents and accessories, suggests a space that could be used for working from home or studying.

After completing the installation and styling we’d turned an empty house into a home.  Our client was thrilled that it then sold within a week.
