Unique Country Home, Petersfield, Hampshire
A contemporary interior design scheme for this country house – full of character and charm and designed to remain sympathetic to the unique qualities of this period property. Mixing old and new to striking effect, the chic monochrome utility room combines bronze colour-matched fittings with reclaimed materials. A bright and characterful contemporary bathroom design makes use of sustainable materials in restful colours, with the modern walnut basin stand playing on the form of traditional fittings. The Petersfield countryside is brought into the home through the charming study and library – where a shimmering flora and fauna wallpaper draws on biophilic design principles, and the deep colours and fitted library cabinetry encase this snug retreat.
An ambitious redesign in West Meon, Petersfield, Hampshire
A stunning overhaul of the principal bedroom and bathroom of this South Downs home. In this period property just outside Petersfield, a magnificent vaulted space was created by redesigning the roof structure to remove the ceilings and partitions, and this contemporary broken-plan bedroom and bathroom suite is now flooded with natural light. At the centre of this space is the contemporary bathroom. The minimal design style celebrates organic forms and the beauty of natural materials, and it’s combined with a gentle colour palette and matt finishes inspired by the natural stone of Petersfield and Hampshire. The reductive design combined with serene finishes has created an invigorating space in which to wake and start the day, and a restorative retreat to nurture tired souls in the evenings.
Kitchen Redesign, South Downs, Hampshire
A complete makeover of an open plan kitchen and dining room in Hampshire’s South Downs National Park. This family room near Petersfield was refreshed with a contemporary palette of colours and materials, while at the same time maintaining a feel that suited the period property and its rural setting. Deep grey painted cabinetry brings the aesthetic up to date, while the drawers and cupboards are accented with smart polished copper knobs to bring sparkle to the kitchen. Mid-century furniture lends a modern twist to this period Hampshire property, with Mario Bellini’s Cab chairs and an Eames DSW fibreglass chair in the study area.

Landscape Design, Petersfield, Hampshire
Landscape projects are unusual for us, but we saw the garden of this Petersfield home as being an outside room – or rather, a series of rooms – so outside we went. This landscape project entailed the planning and design of a complete country garden, and we created an elegant, terraced design on this complex site. Sympathetic to the period of this Petersfield home, brick and stone are used throughout, and traditional Hampshire materials such as flint respect its surroundings and reinforce the sense of place. The new design supports contemporary living and encourages a much greater use of the garden as a whole. ‘Rooms’ within the garden allow for different uses, and integrated smart lighting throughout enables these spaces to be used long into the evenings when the weather allows.
