We’ve been catching up on project photography, and here’s a peek at one of our recent interior design projects that we’ll be adding to the portfolio shortly.
When designing for homes of this size it’s crucial to create a consistent feel throughout the different areas. Rooms can still feel quite distinct from each other, but a style of decoration, a base colour palette, and consistency in texture and detailing are essential to bring a sense of unity to a large property.
This family home had become tired over the years and it was fully redesigned with an elegant, contemporary interior. We also incorporated layout changes to some of the main rooms to transform how they could be used, as well as how those spaces feel when they’re being used. We used natural materials and high-quality finishes to create a timeless and elegant home which the family can enjoy for many years to come.
The sitting room was inspired by the client’s artwork, with subtle references in the rich colours and patterns in the fabrics. A new limestone fireplace and hearth were sourced for the centrepiece of the room. Sleek, contemporary lighting provides a counterpoint to the classical fireplace and architectural mouldings.
In the principal bedroom we worked with the client’s existing antique furniture, and decorated with patterns and details on a smaller scale. A random repeat floral wallpaper is combined with classical decorative lighting and soft fabric textures to create a calm and relaxed space.
The textures and details continue even in the cloakroom, with the design scheme connecting and continuing the journey through this home. Deep-coloured wallcoverings contrast with jewel-like mosaic glittering behind the striking vanity lighting. A glamorous room that guests will love to use.
There’s much more to come… this project and the full design story will be in our interior design portfolio soon…
