I was in London’s Conran Shop in South Kensington last week. It’s always been a great place to go for interior design products, and the quirky mix of furnishings and lifestyle items has never really been matched elsewhere, even in London.
I thought you’d like to see some of the stylish and fun design products in there at the moment.
The Serif TV from Samsung is striking in its simplicity. Designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec (we used fittings that they’d designed in our modern house design project in Cambridgeshire), its simple curves and unflashy finish are remarkably different to the high-tech feel of most contemporary home electronics. Only available from design stores, these televisions would sit proudly yet discreetly in many homes.
The ‘Teca’ sideboard or credenza is practical and fun. It’s simple metal frame gives a very clean, simple look, while the timber boxes are very flexible and can store practically anything. And it’s on wheels! On top of it is another Samsung Serif TV in a smaller size.
These ‘Pure Mold’ desk / table lamps are simple switched light fittings. They use LED uplighting lamps with the appearance of filament bulbs.
Here’s Ridley’s ‘Games Room’ range of traditional board games – I’d have them just for the boxes!
A great selection of Kilims in bold, graphic designs.
The ‘Krossing’ shelving system – a simple, modular system which can be ordered in many sizes and configured to fill almost any space, regardless of size and shape. Available in three different colours / finishes.
And finally, this outdoor kitchen must be one of the best places for summer cooking and relaxing!
