Once again London’s Viaduct furniture and lighting store have produced a great review of the Milan Furniture Fair. It’s always a great read, and picks up on interior design trends as well the latest design products. You can read the full report here.

These items really caught my eye…
A feature on Jasper Morrison’s latest interior product designs has some fantastic pieces featured, and especially his new ‘Ink’ bureau for Molteni – top-left on the page below. A pared-back design in American Black Walnut, it’s luxurious in its simplicity, with the focus on the fine timber and of course the function of the piece:

In a feature on the use of natural materials, I’ve fallen for the Voyage chair by GamFratesi for Italian brand Porro – shown top-right on the page below. The chair relies on the physical qualities of the luxurious leather slung across the frame for both form and comfort. It reminds me of Mario Bellini’s Cab chair for Cassina from the 1970s – a classic that’s still in production today and in many ways has never been improved on since. The Voyage chair shows its beautiful timber frame though, which is available in natural or black-stained timber, with different leather colours for the top.

I hope you enjoy reading the report and find some new favourite designs of your own!
