As well as completing the interior design project at Knightsbridge / South Kensington, we’re also bringing the works to a close at a very different location in London – the Barbican Estate.
Barbican Estate – interior design in Shakespeare Tower
Here at the Barbican we’ve been working on a complete refurbishment of a flat in Shakespeare Tower. As I wrote previously about this interior design project on the Barbican Estate, our brief here was to help a professional couple completely update a flat that hadn’t been touched for many years.
New kitchen and bathrooms
The major building works and fitting out are now complete, including a sleek new kitchen, bespoke utility area, and two stunning new bathrooms with Dutch tiles from Mosa:

Custom-designed fitted joinery
We’ve also designed fitted joinery for the sitting room and all of the bedrooms. Here’s a sneak peek at one of the main storage units:

Soft furnishings
The final items to arrive are the soft furnishings – the carpets, blinds and curtains. The carpet is a special engineered-fibre carpet from Germany, specified to cater for certain environmental factors within the Barbican Estate.
Curtains and fabrics
In the main reception room voile blinds are being fitted to provide a combination of privacy and light control. New curtains are being made for all rooms too in stunning fabrics from Mulberry, Harlequin, Lelievre and Kravet. The curtains in the main reception room will hang on Silent Gliss ‘wave’ headers and tracks. These will give a clean, contemporary look – in keeping with the unique feel of the Barbican Estate.
The project will be completed soon and I’m looking forward to sharing more of it with you then.
