The Milan Furniture Fair, or rather Salone del Mobile, is probably the biggest and best furniture and design fair in the world. Taking place each April, product designers and furniture makers from around the world congregate in Milan for the design week.
There’s a huge range on show each year – from the latest furniture by the large manufacturers to prototype and exhibition pieces by smaller designers. And the exhibition isn’t always furniture as such – there’s a dazzling mix of concept installations, art, sculpture and yes, a few hundred chairs too.
As well as the furniture fair, this year was also Euroluce – the lighting design fair which takes place every other year. So among the furniture there were also wonderful lighting products and design concepts.
One thing that always stands out at Milan though is fun!
