London Design Week 2014 #LDW2014 is currently taking place at the Design Centre at London’s Chelsea Harbour. This is the best opportunity to see all of the new collections of fabrics, wallcoverings, materials and fittings for this year in one place, and is a must-visit event for interior designers.
I visited during the trade days on Monday, and here’s a brief look at some of the most exciting new products. Many of the new fabric and wallcoverings were very bright this season – spring has most definitely arrived!
For example, have a look at the chair and cushion upholstered in fabric by Pierre Frey…

…and the new design ‘Fontainbleau’ wallpaper from the ‘Folie’ collection by Cole & Son:

Digital design seemed to have influenced many of the new fabrics from Sahco, including this pixelated floral design, again in strong, vivid colours:

At Romo, the extraordinary paintings of Jessica Zoob had been translated into the new ‘Desire’ range of fabrics. Her original paintings are currently on display in their showroom alongside the prints:

Lelievre are celebrating their centenary this year, and have launched this stunning fabric drawing on the designs of many of their fabrics right through their collection:

In fittings, one of the current trends is bronze, especially in darker shades. Here is the new Style Moderne shower fitting from Samuel Heath in their new bronze finish:

Also shown is the ‘Lys’ adjustable floor lamp from Besselink & Jones in bronze – even the shade is bronze on this lamp, and it looks fabulous – very smart and chic.

London Design Week opened to the public today, following the trade preview – get down there this week for inspiration!
