It’s about time I shared another ‘before and after’ from one of our projects.
Here’s a design which transforms the kitchen of this central London apartment. The layout is remodelled so that the kitchen becomes the centrepiece of this contemporary interior, and a fabulous living and entertaining space.
The apartment overlooks London’s River Thames and the Houses of Parliament, and the new interior layout opens up the kitchen to make the most of all the natural light available. Gone is the dark and claustrophobic galley kitchen of before, replaced with a sleek white kitchen with a Carrara marble worktop, silver slate splashback and a fabulous extractor from Elica.
In the new layout the clients are able to enjoy the light and the view all of the time, and when entertaining they can be in the same space as their guests and dine around the bespoke table at the end of the kitchen peninsula. A bold scheme, but one which also feels refined and elegant in its use of natural materials and finishes: the marble and slate, but also softer materials in the dining area: the oak table and ash chairs with leather. And there’s high-end luxury in the appliances courtesy of Gaggenau, including a plumbed steam oven and even a barbecue alongside the induction hob.
Products used here include chairs from Cassina, lighting from Ligne Roset, fittings from Franke and Arwa, appliances from Elica and Gaggenau, slate from Island Stone, and loudspeakers by Anthony Gallo. Accessories and tableware from Iittala complete the scheme.
