Happy New Year! And it’s a very happy New Year for us as we’re thrilled to have just been shortlisted for kbbreview‘s Bathroom Designer of the Year award.
This was for our recently completed project in London’s Knightsbridge / South Kensington. The client brief was for a smart, luxurious bathroom design, with lots of storage and display spaces.
We felt that in order to meet the client’s brief, the space needed a smart, slick design that was neat but also eye-catching. We wanted to incorporate classical references – as appropriate for a period London property – but also include modern counterpoints as you’d expect in a contemporary bathroom.
To create this smart appearance, we used brick tiles throughout the room, combining strikingly luxurious materials – Carrara marble and blue Murano glass. The marble tiles are a classic look that is very much in keeping with this period property in an historic part of London. The blue Murano glass provides the hit of the client’s favourite colour, but with a depth and interest to the finish which isn’t normally apparent in tiles, and which complements the character of the marble perfectly.
The client loved that we managed to get everything they wanted into the space, yet still achieve a stunning design that feels deliberate, spacious and beautiful to look at and enjoy.
We’re one of just four interior designers shortlisted for the Bathroom Designer of the Year award for projects over £25,000. Full information on the award and the shortlisted designers is here.
We’re presenting to the awards judging panel soon… fingers crossed!
